Allsorts

Attending a creative writing workshop last weekend, I was struck by the variety of people there; and these were just the half a dozen or so that were sitting within earshot at lunchtime.

An airline pilot, a technical writer, a derivatives trader, a software designer and two people working for a national broadcaster were among the people I spoke to briefly.

Many people read out something they had written, and I was struck by the quality of the writing.

The saying: 'everbody has a book in them' never seemed so relevant
